A line is a dot that went for a walk...

logo-01.jpg

“A line is a dot that went for a walk.” A quote by Paul Klee I always stick by. Lets start at the beginning... A dot is an idea that you have; the dot walks down a road one step at a time, and soon you have a trail of dots… a line is formed, and in our case, your brand is formed. Everything you want to accomplish in your business starts with a dot. I am the dot that gets you started.

Who am I?

I’m Jemma, and I’m the creative Director of Alma Designs. Since gaining a first-class degree in Graphic Design, my design projects have ranged from bespoke business branding, magazine editorials, national campaigns to website design and Social Media marketing.

Where it all began.

The beginning.
2010

I have been studying Graphic Design for as long as I can remember. It all started in high school when I took Graphic Design as a GCSE. From then I knew it was what I wanted to do as a career. I then began to study Graphic Design in College which then lead on to University where I graduated with a First Class Degree in Graphic Design (proud moment)

Alma Designs was born.
2016

Whilst Studying in University, Alma designs was created as a way of making a few extra pennies. My main clientele was beauty businesses around the area that I lived. Never did I expect to grow across the country and abroad! This also helped me gain experience in the field which helped me land my very first Graphic Design Job when I graduated.

I have a title... "Junior Graphic Designer"
2018

I landed my dream Graphic Design job where I worked for Global Travel Group. The job was perfect, I created branding for Travel Agents whilst working on major seasonal campaigns as well as the additional life style Magazine that we published 4 times a year. Whilst working full time here, I still ran Alma Designs from home which was hard work - no sleep for me!

Dun, dun dun... Pandemic!
2020

As a lot of people were furloughed, this freed up a lot of time for people to really focus on their businesses, I found myself busier than ever and realised that my side hustle was taking up more time than my full time job. Unfortunately like many people during the pandemic, I was made redundant... it was time to make a decision, do I find a new job or go self employed?

I took a leap of faith
2020

I decided to take a leap of faith, I went self employed and put all my focus on Alma Designs and have never looked back.
